I wish I had...

a lot.  But then I look back and realize all of the wonderful things that I do have.  At this point in my life, I unfortunately do not have the time I would want to dedicate to my craft room.  Instead I'm off getting vaccinated for yellow fever and some sort of Japanese disease I've never heard of and cannot pronounce (for the record, I'm not being racist...the vaccination is for some sort of disease that is named Japanese....something.)

Just because I don't have as much time to create as I would like does not mean that I don't enjoy following others' blogs and looking at the wonderful things they are able to do with their time.  For example, Provo Craft just released 5 new cricut cartridges today!! (To see them, check out Obsessed with Scrapbooking-she's got a great look at each of them.)  How cool is that?  And there's even a musical cart. now!!!  Anyone who knows me will know that this has got be my favorite, hands down!  And with the other 4 carts there is a whole new world of creations that will come about.  Watching everyone use their talents to create is just wonderful to me-and I love that we share them!!

So regardless of the time I don't have, I am grateful for the time others currently have, and how I am currently living through them to fulfill my crafty urges :)  But don't worry; I'm sure there will come another time in my life when I do feel like I can budget in some time to dust off my old cricut friend and do some crafting.  That desire never really goes away.

BOO!!!

With Halloween just around the corner, how could I not make a Halloween card?  :)  This card was inspired by candy corn.  You know, that white, yellow, and orange (or occasionally chocolate) candy that makes it appearance around this time every year?  Well, rather than stuff myself with sugar, I decided to get my candy corn fix through a much more diet friendly conduit ;)

(It also helped that challenge #219 over at 365 Cards was to make a card whose motivation was candy corn!)

Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, my paper sugar rush:

I had a lot of fun with this card.  I'm sure I'm not the only to use the orange, yellow, and white paper stripes idea, but I like to think my card still turned out to be original.  I felt very proud of the netting across the yellow paper-I knicked it from my dad's construction supplies (he's currently finishing our basement, so there's lots of it around, although I can't remember exactly what it's called...).  My little spider was from the Doodlecharms cart and my BooHouse came from Jubilee-welded together using design studio.

My eye candy :)

More Cards :)

The challenge at 365 Cards-Day #218 was to create a card using 3 sheets of patterned paper all from the same paper stack.  I have a couple of DCVW stacks, and I just got the "green" stack the other day-so that was the stack I used.  I love this simplistic little thank you card.  Let me know what you think!

A sketch or so...

I decided I needed to make a couple of cards with the little bit of time I have left.  So I went to my favorite card challenge site (365cards) and decided to do the sketch for day #217.
I was over at Capadia Designs and I was looking at some of her ideas for creating your own "patterned paper" in a way, and I decided to give it a shot.  I think it turned out nicely!  It was rather small, which meant a good 10 minutes or so getting all of the little pieces out, but looking at the card as a whole, I think it looks great!

Back to Work!

For someone who doesn't have anything going on in her life, I've managed to keep surprisingly busy :)  It was my cousin's birthday yesterday, so I made her this card to send to her.  She loved it!
